The current Club
Amsterdam Dynamics
The founding board changed the name to Amsterdam Dynamics in 2021. The transition to a "real club" was naturally challenging, as it occurred during the coronavirus pandemic, when group sports were prohibited for a long time. With support from the Hockey Foundation, this was eventually achieved, and in 2022, Amsterdam Dynamics was admitted as a member of the KNHB (Royal Dutch Hockey Federation), meaning our teams can participate in the official hockey competition.
Amsterdam Dynamics stands for friendship, fun, and sportsmanship. It offers children the opportunity to make new friends in the neighborhood. Together, we, the members, their parents, the board, and the volunteers, create the club culture. We train on Tuesdays and Fridays, offer urban hockey for youth and recreational hockey for adults, and host "Foody Friday," where we all eat together at the club. All of this is coordinated by our own club manager and former hockey international Maartje Scheepstra.
Field
Because we currently play hockey on a ¾ pitch, the youth teams from U10 onwards cannot play their home games; they need a full pitch. Because Nelson Mandela Park is part of the area development plans, we moved the ¾ pitch and a beautiful 'cafeteria' we received from our sponsor, Hondsrug, to a new—again temporary—location at Darlingstraat 6 in the D-buurt neighborhood on Friday, February 28, 2025. We are currently working hard with the Municipality to secure a permanent location in Zuidoost, with a full pitch and a proper clubhouse. Would you like to contribute your ideas about what this new location will look like? Then sign up for the 'Location' working group by emailing [email protected]
Financial
Furthermore, we currently cannot exist without the financial support of the Hockey Foundation and Rabobank, which will decrease in the coming years. Would you like to help Amsterdam Dynamics continue to exist by sponsoring with your company or making a personal donation? Then see Sponsoring & Donations below.
Members
Currently (2025), we have approximately 50 youth members and 10 senior members. We've also formed two competitive teams from our youth members. Interested in playing hockey? Then check out Become a Member; the first three trial lessons are free!
Volunteers
The club is led by the Board. We also need many volunteers to keep the club running!
